What Everybody Ought To Know About Gold
Most people think gold is an investment and financial advisors use that term as well. They can, because they have a legal licence to use it. I don't agree with it. See I am a professor of History and in my studies I found out that gold has always been money for the...
There’s an awful lot going on in the world today. If you blink, you might miss something it seems. More and more with the growth of technology we’re finding that as we become more connected, our collective heads are coming out of the sand. So with this, we’re realizing that we can be more connected with what’s going on in the world. More importantly, we want to be. This new awareness of, and hunger for connection has led many to be part of more than what they can handle in their day to day lives. It’s too easy to get too caught up in circumstance and then wind up playing catch-up all day long. We lose sight of the important things and why we wanted this connection and significance that comes from having our individual voice heard to begin with.
The clutter we’ve taken on is an inundation of inherited thoughts and beliefs; having to mentally process and retain all that is going on and coming at us in our lives. This clutter is also what we must ‘get done’. It seems as though we are rushing to meet the deadlines of everyone but ourselves. Many sometimes get discouraged with this realization and they begin to resent things in their life because these things own more of their energy than can be spent. Rest assured that this can change, even by your awareness of it.
Your circumstances may not change overnight but bringing a magnifying glass to where your energy goes will allow you to redirect and channel it in a more empowering way. Escapism is something many turn toward, and while it might have momentary value, escaping from your problems, tasks, or life altogether is not the real answer. Regardless of your escape, this thing you are escaping from still remains; the escape is only temporary. Escaping from ones own life is an easy way to breed resentment. Taking a healthy vacation while acknowledging you will return with a better mindset is needed for many people and should be done by all. This vacation could be a day off work, a yoga class, ten minutes of meditation, or a destination away; all are healthy ways to take a break from what might be overwhelming you in order for you to come back fresh.
Turning to food, alcohol, drugs, television, the computer, or some other non productive avenue is the road many choose to take. These are things which may bring temporary value but have a damaging effect in more ways than one. These escapes or distractions usually make you weaker physically, mentally and emotionally than you were before turning to them. The more the cause of your want to escape is not addressed, the more you will want to get away from it and the more you will get bogged down by this clutter of things and , to-do’s, excuses, tasks and illnesses should you lose your strength, resolve and direction.
The first step is being aware of what clutter actually is to you. The most important part of this first step is admitting that it is you who allows, perhaps even creates, this clutter in the first place. Once you define what clutter is you will already know that it is you who allowed this in your life and therefore have the energy and power to eliminate it. This is an empowering thing.
Clutter can be defined as things you don’t want to deal with, things that annoy you, that get in your way of doing what you need or the things that you take on as immediate pleasures which don’t eliminate your real problems but only disguise them temporarily. Clutter comes when you don’t have focus. There’s no clarity to remove non-essentials. Clarity comes when you know what it is you’re looking for or what you’d like to get out of a day/week/month/year. When you know the main things you’re looking to accomplish or the themes you’d like to live by on a day to day basis, anything else that comes along you can ignore, maneuver around, discard or not waste your time on.
Stay aware, you know how you want to feel; if not, something needs to change. Quick fixes and escapes haven’t served any lasting good, so what will? The power is yours, literally. Change isn’t easy and often takes time but you’re reading these words for a reason. You’re reading these words because you desire Clarity and Purpose. Because you’re worth it.
